The Coalition of Organisations Committed to the Safety and Wellbeing of Australia’s Children
The Coalition of Organisations Committed to the Safety and Wellbeing of Australia’s Children was established in November 2007. It played a leading role in advocating for, and negotiating, the National Framework for Protecting Australia’s Children 2009-2020, which was announced by the Council of Australian Governments (COAG) in April 2009. It is now helping to implement the National Framework.
The NGO/academic Coalition comprises 169 non-government community organisations which provide services to children, young people and families on the ground across Australia, as well as many key advocates and researchers in the areas of child protection and children’s wellbeing.
The larger or peak organisations in the Coalition, in turn, represent collectively many hundreds of not-for-profit community and welfare organisations around Australia.
